Itinerary

1. Day 1- Porto City Tour

   • Admire the typical granite houses and monuments, with all the rhythms of its city life, movement, and intense retailing.

   • Main square of Av. Aliados.

   • The highest tower in the city of Clerigos.

   • The church of Sao Francisco all furnished with gold leaf.

   • World-famous bookstore Livraria Lello.

   • Ultra-modern Casa da Musica building.

   • Atlantic fortress of Castelo do Queijo.

   • Old Cathedral.

   • Palacio da Bolsa. (Chamber of Commerce)

   • Ribeira.

   • River cruise under the city’'s 6 bridges. Enjoy an entirely different view of the city from there.

   • Finish with a guided wine tasting tour of the Port Wine Old Cellars.

   Overnight in Hotel at Porto. (Possibilities between 3 and 5 stars)

2. Day 2- Amarante and Douro

   • Amarante's sweets and cakes are extremely famous and easy to find in many of the region's cake-shops and cafés. Get to explore the speciality of this place.

   • Visiting the Mountains of Marão to admire its breathtaking landscape. 

   • Close by is the delightful valley of Ansiães, where visitors visit the trout farms on the right bank of the river Ovelha, providing an excellent pretext for enjoying a walk through the dense woods surrounding them.

   • The village of Travanca da Serra, which is reached by the road leading to Peso da Régua, is an extremely picturesque spot, offering a magnificent panoramic view of the whole region.

   • Finish the day with a tour to an old winery on the Douro river banks (Quinta da Pacheca; Quinta do Vallado; Quinta do Côtto).
