Explore the Bled Castle and Other Sights
- The tour starts with a walk around Lake Bled and then a boat ride into the Heart of the lake. While boating, see the Church of the Mother of God on the lake, which is the island's most recognisable landmark, and the tour guide will give you the history of the Island. The "Wishing Bell" within the church is what makes it famous among the many island tourists; by ringing it, people recommend themselves to the Mother of God and make requests of her.
- Take public transport or hike up to the entrance to the castle situated on a hilltop and move to what once was a chapel. This chapel has beautifully painted walls and ceilings, which give it the illusion of being larger than it is.
- After the chapel, you will visit the museum at the castle to see some of the highlights and stories about the man who started tourism in Bled by promoting it as a therapeutic place. The castle's terrace, which rises 125m (140 yards) above the lake, will give you a gorgeous panoramic view of the Bled city, Lake Bled, and the island. Along with the wonderful view, you will be accompanied by the stories of legends and the life of the locals in Bled.
- Next, you will visit a copy of Gutenberg's printing house, which is located in the vicinity, and you will find out all about printing and how it was carried out six hundred and fifty years ago.
