- Meet the tour guide and visit Saqsayhuaman, a Temple dedicated to the Sun God Inti. It is one of the most fabulous sites built by the Inca civilisation in the heart of the Andes mountains of Peru. Located right on the outskirts of Cusco City and at the top of a difficult mountain, this religious complex is full of superlatives. It features the largest and heaviest stone blocks moved by the Incas from a nearby stone quarry to the current location of the site. Thousands of builders worked here for under a century to achieve one of the most celebrated masterpieces of the Inca civilisation: a temple-like no other for extravagant ceremonies to please the Sun God.
- Enjoy panoramic views of Saqsayhuaman on this tour and admire its imposing stone architecture up close. Walking through the vast complex, we will learn some fascinating details about the Inca religion and how elements from their architectural marvels ended up decorating the cathedral nearby.
