Itinerary
-
Arequipa City Tour
- Meet the tour guide and begin the tour at the Bolognesi Bridge, offering visitors a magnificent view of the Misti and Chachani Volcanoes.
- After crossing the bridge, visitors will head towards the Main Square, considered the city's center point of activity and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Most cities in Peru have a ‘Plaza de Armas’ or a Main Square, but none are quite as attractive as the one at the heart of Arequipa’s historic centre. The Basilica Cathedral, a landmark of the city, is also a blend of neoclassical, renaissance and Gothic styles and was built from the volcanic stone known as Sillar.
- After admiring the Cathedral, the tour will proceed to the Iglesia de la Compania, an elegant Jesuit Church located on the opposite corner of the plaza, with a beautifully carved facade in the Churrigueresque design style.
