Description
The Commandaria wine region is a specific "appellation controllée" area of 13 villages that have been making this specific sweet dessert wine (referred to as King of the Wines/Wine of the Kings) since high antiquity. We are going to visit one of these: Lania village, and taste this local product. Next, let's take a look at yet another local producer of typical homemade sugar-preserved (candied) fruit. There follows a pleasant uphill drive through the thick pine forest to the most popular mountain holiday resort of Platres (1100 metres). Finally, we'll take the road to the incredibly enchanting, protected heritage village of Lofou before making our way back.
