Explore Tanzania’s fascinating national parks on this 3-day Tanzania safari. You will start your safari in the kingdom of the elephants, Tarangire National Park. And end with the outstanding Ngorongoro Crater tour, a natural wonder with the world’s highest concentration of wildlife.

Itinerary

3-Day Tanzania (Ngorongoro Crater & Tarangire) Safari

Day 1 - Arrival Airport to Arusha
Our representative will meet yourrival at Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha Airport. Transfer to your accommodation in Arusha for an overnight stay. If you arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport, the drive to the hotel in Arusha will take about 45 mins, a distance of around 50 km.

Day 2 - Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will meet an office representative/tour guide for a briefing about your safari, then take 2 hour's drive to Tarangire National Park. Along the way, you will take in the scenic views of the grassland plains dotted with ancient baobab trees, nomadic people (Masai) in their colourful dresses walking on the roadside, riding bicycles, herding cattle and driving donkeys' carts and traditional Maasai houses. You will see all that Tarangire National Park is known for – the famous ancient baobab trees, tree-climbing pythons, and the largest concentration of African elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. After a picnic lunch in midday, you will resume your afternoon game drive, then drive to Omega View Hotel & Resort for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3 - Ngorongoro Crater to Airport
After breakfast, you'll depart from Karatu and begin the drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey takes approximately half an hour, and you'll enter Ngorongoro Crater.
You will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. In midday, you will have your lunch at the crater's base. Enjoy the beautiful colours of the landscapes and the diversity of animals. The crater is home to Africa's highest concentration of wildlife and is choked with elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos and even the rare black rhino. This is one of the best places to spot the Big Five.
In the afternoon, we will ascend the crater and drive to Airport for a flight back home.

Know Before You Go

What to wear on Tanzania safari

T-shirts and tank tops

Long-sleeved shirts

Shorts

Light long pants or convertible long-short pants

Warm fleece pullover or jacket

One swimsuit

Pyjamas (also warm ones)

One pair of comfortable walking shoes

What To Bring

BACKPACK: It's always handy to have a more manageable bag (small backpack or duffle bag) that you can have with you in the vehicle.

WARM SWEATER OR LIGHT FLEECE: It's always good to have something a little warmer to throw on until the sun warms the plains up.

WINDBREAKER OR WATERPROOF JACKET: You never know when there will be a sudden squall or downpour, so packing a lightweight rain jacket is a good idea.

WALKING SHOES OR BOOTS: You'll need a comfortable pair of shoes or hiking boots for walking tours on villages, to walk comfortably to your accommodations, snapping photos from the picnic spot, or if you've added any walking safaris to your itinerary.

LONG SLEEVE DRESS SHIRT, LIGHT AND WARM TROUSERS: Perfect for sun protection and to ward off hungry mosquitoes, a long sleeve shirt and trousers are also a good option for a cold morning or evening.

SUNGLASSES: A must for sunny safari tours.

HAT: A good hat is a great way to avoid nasty burns or heatstroke.

SUNSCREEN AND LIP BALM: To protect from the sometimes-strong sun, especially in elevated areas, but also on game safaris.

INSECT REPELLENT: To chill during sunsets and especially at night, you must pack insect repellents.

BINOCULARS: On some occasions, you want a closer look, and if you have your own binoculars, you can see more details. Usually, we also have at least two binoculars by vehicle, but to be safe, you can bring your own.

PLUG ADAPTATORS: Africa is generally 3-prong round or square, like the UK.

MEDICATIONS: Please don't forget to carry any prescribed or, eventually, any other medicine in need. Allergy remedies, pain relievers, rehydration salts like Liquid I.V., antiseptic creams, motion sickness tablets (Dramamine), heartburn remedies, anti-diarrhoea medicine, and cold/flu tablets.
