Essential Madrid Tour
- This is a walking tour that starts in Puerta del Sol (the main city centre area). We discover the 'Hapsburgs Madrid' (old town) and see the highlights, like 'the heart' Plaza Mayor (an old place that was used for food markets, bullfights, processions, executions...).
- The narrow streets of Madrid will guide us to places like the oldest restaurant in the world, or the very popular Mercado de San Miguel (gastronomical food market) or Plaza de la Villa (the oldest little square for the council and with the oldest building). After that,
- We will also visit the Arab walls from the 9th century to understand the origins of Madrid. And finally, we will cover the area of the Cathedral, Royal Palace (the largest of all occidental Europe), and Plaza de Oriente with the Opera House (Teatro Real). (Hint: you will also finish with ideas for tapas!).
