Day 01
Jiufen, Shifen, and Pingxi Discovery
- Meet your tour guide and head to the mountain top to visit the famous A-Mei Tea House. Here, you can enjoy the view and take part in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony with delicious tea pastries. You will also have the chance to learn how to make the tea yourself.
- Transfer to Jiufen, a world-famous old town that was featured in the Japanese movie "Spirited Away." You may want to watch the film first, and when you arrive in town, you will be amazed by its buildings, shops, and views. Walk around this mountain town overlooking the sea - it is a must-do experience in Taiwan.
- Continue with a hike to stunning waterfalls, where you can take great photos of the falls and suspension bridges. Shifen Waterfall is the biggest waterfall in Taiwan, and the waterfall park is well organized, allowing you to observe the waterfall from close up.
- Fly your own sky lantern in Pingxi. Write your wishes on the lantern like a local and release it on the railway, where tradition says your wishes will come true. During World War II, Pingxi was heavily attacked, and your local guide will also take you to see the former bomb shelter, now more like a cave in the mountains.
- Lastly, enjoy some local delicacies along the way.
