See the Beautiful Sunrise from Puthuk Setumbu
- Meet the tour representative, who will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 03.30 a.m.
- Continue the journey to Magelang city for approximately 1.5 hours.
- See the unforgettable sunrise at Punthuk Setumbu. The Punthuk Setumbu view of mystical mist arising in the Borobudur Temple almost can not be described with words. The beauty can only be enjoyed when you see it directly in the silent morning that surrounds it. To catch the top of the Punthuk Setumbu hill, you need to do a little bit of trekking on foot.
- Do a quick walk. No need to run and enjoy the fresh air around. You can arrive at the top at that pace in less than 15 minutes.
- Head to the Gereja Ayam/Chicken Church. This building resembling a rooster is clearly visible from the summit of Bukit Punthuk Setumbu. The head was complete with spurs, and his combs poked out between the trees covered in thin mist. Its unique shape resembles a chicken making this building known as the 'chicken church' even though this place is not a church. This building used to be a prayer house, retreat place, and rehabilitation house. But now, the building of the Chicken Church or Jago Church has not been occupied and has become an empty building.
- Go to Borobudur, the world's grandest Buddhist temple and designated as one of the World Heritage by UNESCO. This giant stone puzzle results from collaboration in engineering, architecture, and high-level art, a world masterpiece. (Note: All visitors can only enter the temple courtyard area, they are not allowed to go up to the Stupa area.)
