Explore the Highlights of Agra
- Meet our tour representative at 7:30 a.m., who will pick you up from your hotel in Delhi and transfer you to the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station to board the superfast air-conditioned train to Agra. (We will E-mail you the train ticket after booking confirmation.)
- Depart by the Gatimaan Express at 8:10 a.m. (Train No 12050) for Agra Cantt Railway Station. (Breakfast is included in the train fare; the distance travelled between Delhi and Agra by train is 1.4 hrs.)
- Arrive at Agra Cantt Railway Station at 9:50 a.m. Your tour guide and driver will receive you from the railway station in Agra.
- Start the tour at 10:15 a.m. by visiting the Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal is a cynosure of India in the global tourism arena. The monument, constructed in the 16th century, holds a grand history of the true love and affection of 5th Mughal King Shah Jahan towards his beloved wife, Mumtaj Mahal. This edifice is the finest example of Indo-Islamic architecture style situated on the right bank of the river Yamuna.
- Visit the Agra Fort at 12:30 p.m. The fort is made of red sandstone depicting the glorious rule of the mighty Mughals with their lavish lifestyle. It was built in the 15th century by the third Mughal king Akbar. Encircled by two huge walls, this fort has some impressive buildings like Jasmine Tower, Khas Mahal, Diwan I Am, Diwan I Khas etc. Stop for a lunch break at 14:00. (You reserve the right to recommend a restaurant of your choice in Agra on direct payment. Otherwise, your tour guide will take you to a clean and hygienic AC restaurant.)
- Continue to Itmad-Ud-Daulah (15:00), also called Baby Taj. Due to some of its resemblance with the Taj Mahal, it is popularly known as “Baby Taj”. This tomb is elaborately carved with pure marble and exhibits Indo-Islamic architecture style. Empress Noor Jahan ordered this tomb in memory of her father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg, in 1622.
- Proceed to the handicraft gallery of marble inlay souvenirs in Agra city (16:30). You are free to explore Agra City, known for exporting marble inlay handicrafts. (Optional tour)
- Transfer to the railway station at 17:00 to board the train to Delhi. Gatimaan Express (Train No 12049) departs for Delhi at 17:50. Dinner will be served on the train.
- Arrive at H Nizamuddin Railway Station at 19:30. Our cab will transfer you back to your hotel in Delhi.
