Explore the Highlights of Agra
- Meet the tour guide, who will pick you up from your hotel or Delhi airport around 6:30 a.m.
- Proceed to Agra by car through Yamuna Expressway, which is 168 KM. You can stop in midway for refreshment if you desire. (Early start is recommendable, but you can customize timing per your need.)
- Arrive in Agra by 9:30 a.m. and visit the Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal is an engineering marvel and an architectural wonder made of white marble, ingeniously designed on the right bank of the river Yamuna. This edifice is a world heritage site and a cynosure of the global tourism industry. (Taj Mahal is closed every Friday.)
- Visit the Agra Fort at 11:30 a.m., a world heritage site. This edifice was constructed by the third Mughal king Akbar in 1565 AD. It is made of red sandstone and encircled by two huge outer walls. Here you can see some interesting buildings of Mughal architectural design like Jasmine tower, KhasMahal, Diwan-i-Am etc. Stop for lunch at 13:00.
- Proceed to the marble inlay factory (at 14:00) for gifts or souvenirs from Agra. Marble inlay is 400 years old art of this city in which marble is blended with semiprecious stone. (optional)
- Stroll through the beautiful Mehtab Bagh at 14:30 and witness the panoramic riverside view of the Taj Mahal.
- Return to Delhi by 18:00. Drop off at your hotel or airport.
