Arusha is a city in northern Tanzania and the capital of the Arusha region, with a population of 416,442 plus 323,198 in the surrounding district of Arusha. Located at the foot of Mount Meru, at the eastern end of the eastern branch of the Great Rift Valley, it has a temperate climate. The city is close to Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Manyara National Park, Olduvai Gorge, Tarangire National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro and Arusha National Park on Mount Meru.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
- After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro conservation area. You will arrive at the lodge just in time for lunch, and then we will descend over 600 meters to the crater to observe the wildlife.
With water and food available all year round, Ngorongoro National Park supports a wide variety of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephant. Another big draw of this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to see. We will also visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwest corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. Many flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park
- After breakfast, we head to the heart of wild Africa - the Serengeti National Park - with its boundless plains rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We continue towards the Lobo area, just north of the Seronera area (central Serengeti National Park). Wildebeest migrate normally around July/August each year through the Lobo area en route to the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya and again in late October/November en route to Southern Serengeti National Park. We will arrive in time for lunch and, in the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the Serengeti National Park.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Camp Serengeti Acacia -
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
- After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive in the park. The Lobo and Grumeti River area has good local game all year round. Non-migratory animals such as elephants, buffalo, gazelle, zebra, lion, leopard and cheetah can be seen here all year round. Game viewing is very good, and you can follow the game for long periods of time without seeing other vehicles - truly one of the forgotten corners of the Serengeti plains. Gorgeous river trees are found along the lines of the river, and bird species such as kingfisher and osprey can be found here.

Day 5: Serengeti (Central)
- After breakfast, we head to the far north of the Serengeti National Park, also known as Wagakuria. We will have a game drive en route from the Lobo area to the Wagakuria area. As we head north, there are often good sightings of giraffes, wild game, herds of buffalo and elephants.
We will arrive at the lodge in time for lunch, and after lunch, we will enjoy an afternoon game drive in the area. Wildebeest migration is usually found in the Wagakuria area from August to October, depending on rainfall patterns. A long stretch of the Mara River runs through the Northern Serengeti National Park, and the Mara River is the most difficult obstacle to migration. Witnessing the frantic herds of wildebeest crossing the Mara River is amazing.

Day 6: Northern Serengeti
- After breakfast, enjoy a full-day safari in the Wagakuria area. Wildlife in this part of the park is exceptionally high, with up to 30 strong lions, but from August to October, the area transforms into a wildlife haven. The main feature is the Mara River, and it is not uncommon for herds to cross the Mara River north in one day and return south a few days later. Warning - Finding a level crossing is very difficult and sometimes a matter of luck. A herd is visible at the river's edge and does not decide whether or not to cross the river until a few days later. This is a beautiful region of kopjes, forests, river vegetation and open plains, similar to Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve.
