Itinerary
-
Aswan High Dam - Unfinished Obelisk - Temple of Philae
- A representative will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan to enjoy a day tour in the fantastic city of Aswan. Start your tour by visiting the High Dam, an engineering miracle constructed between 1960 and 1970. It aimed to increase economic production by further regulating the annual river flooding, providing water storage for agriculture and generating hydroelectricity. The dam has significantly impacted the economy and culture of Egypt.
- Then move to the Unfinished Obelisk, and this obelisk is believed to belong to Queen Hatshepsut, one of the rulers of the 18th dynasty and the royal wife of king Tuthmosis II. The unfinished obelisk is the giant known ancient obelisk located in the northern region of the stone quarries of ancient Egypt in Aswan, Egypt. It is unknown which pharaoh created this structure, nearly one-third more significant than any ancient Egyptian obelisk ever erected. It would have measured around 42m and weighed nearly 1,200 tons if finished.
- Then move to the beautiful Temple of Philae on Isis Island and the Granite Quarries, dedicated to the goddesses Isis and Hathor.
- Transfer to your hotel in Aswan.
