Khan El-Khalili Market & Egyptian Textile Museum
- A tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Old Islamic Al-Qahira.
- Explore the gates and walls of the old town.
- We then walk on El-Moez Street to the Egyptian Textile Museum. The only one of its kind in the Middle East, this exciting museum features textiles from ancient Egypt and the Roman, Coptic and Islamic eras. The collection starts at the very beginning, with Pharaonic diapers, and moves on through beautifully embroidered Coptic tunics and great embroidered Kiswat (the panels adorn the Kaaba in Mecca). It’s a small museum but well worth a peek for anyone with an affinity for weaving and fabric.
- Enjoy a private guided museum tour for at least 1 hour (which can be extended upon request).
- Get the opportunity to stroll the Khan El-Khalili tourist market before heading back to the hotel.
