Olpopongi Maasai Cultural trip
- Early in the morning, we drive to Olpopongi in West Kilimanjaro Region. Olpopongi is located 74 kilometres from Moshi. Our two-hour drive will take us through the lovely outback of West Kilimanjaro. Depending on the season, you can see the game, including zebras and elephants. On certain days, you'll have incredible views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.
- We reach Olpopongi by lunchtime, where the local Maasai welcome us with songs and dances. After enjoying singing with the Maasai people, we'll take a stroll around the village, and you'll check in to your hut for the night. The guides will then take you to the cherished petite museum, where you'll learn about the history, social organization, and tools of the Maasai people. A traditional Tanzanian lunch will be served between our lessons to give you enough energy for an exciting afternoon.
- Later in the afternoon, we will drive back to Moshi.
