Day Trip Materuni Waterfalls
- After early breakfast, you will drive to the village of Materuni, which is about 1,800M above sea level. We start the day with a visit to a small coffee farm and finding out how the coffee is grown, harvested and processed locally. You will strive with your hands in processing, roasting and preparing a sparkling cup of coffee in the local Chagga manner. Soon after you enjoy your coffee, you will have a stunning 45-minute hike through the hills and valleys to the materuni waterfalls. Alongside the way, your guide will interpret your local flowers and the way they may be used for food and conventional medicinal drug. The waterfalls are hidden in a pristine valley with cliffs towering up to 200ft overhead. The waterfalls are instantly down in a small pool where you can loosen up, take lunch and swim in the chill mountain waters. This is an experience full of herbal beauty, attractive education, and the preparation of coffee. In the evening, we will go back to Moshi.
