Description
Sign up for an adventurous voyage to summit Uhuru Peak via the Rongai Route, one of the most accessible routes to climb up the mighty mountain Kilimanjaro. Pass through challenging trails, marvel at the panoramic views from the top and, lastly, descend through the Marangu Route on the mountain's south side.
Itinerary

Day one (1): Nalemuru Gate to Simba Camp
- After an early breakfast in your hotel, your guide will pick you up and start with a three-hour drive to Rongai gate where all formalities will be handled and thereafter start our hike that will first pass through maize and potatoes plantations and then to montane forest.
- Our climb will be consistent but gentle and will lead us to our first camp which offers a magnificent view of the Kenyan plains.

Day two (2): Simba Camp to Kikilewa Camp
- On this day we ascend to the second camp where lunch will be offered.
- After that, we will leave the direct path and diverge across the moorland on a smaller trail toward mawenzi side peak to kikelewa camp in a sheltered valley.
- Here we will get dinner and an overnight’s rest.

Day three (3): Kikilewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp
- Immediately after breakfast, we will face a short but steep climb up grassy slopes, which will offer us magnificent superb all-around views.
- After that, we leave the vegetation behind and head to mawenzi tarn camp which is located in the amazing cirque directly beneath the towering spires of mawenzi peak.
- After this short hike, we arrive at mawenzi tarn hut camp where we will spot the mesmerizing undried lake with neither an outlet nor inlet, here we will get lunch and dinner followed by an overnight rest.

Day four (4): Mawenzi Tarn Camp to School Camp
- After breakfast, we will cross the lunar desert of the saddle in the midst of Kibo peak and mawenzi peak to Kibo huts at the bottom of Kibo's crater wall.
- Take as much rest as you can here, and preserve your body energy for the summit.

Day five (5): Uhuru Peak and Horombo Camp
- An early wake up around midnight and begin our challenging hike to the highest peak in Africa. The path to Gilman’s point is steep, so the hike will be steady and we will have frequent short breaks.
- From Gilman’s point, we keep traversing around the crater rim heading to Uhuru peak.
- After arriving at the peak pictures will be taken and will descend to horombo camp.

Day six (6): Horombo Camp to Marangu Gate
- We will have a long descent trek to Marangu gate where certificates will be offered and a car will be waiting to transfer us to Moshi.
