Cairo Pyramids and Museum Excursion
- Transfer from your Luxor accommodation to Luxor International Airport for a domestic flight to Cairo and meet your Cairo tour guide.
- Start at the Giza Plateau, a 4.600-year-old necropolis on the outskirts of Cairo and stand in awe at the Great Sphinx, a 73m long and 20m high limestone statue guarding the complex.
- You will visit the oldest Wonder of the Ancient World, and the only one still standing: the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) and the pyramids of Kafre (Chefren) and Menkaure.
- Walk through the Valley Temple, the Mortuary Temple of Kafre, with alabaster floors and granite pillars.
- Visit the Saqqara Plateau, the oldest complete stone building complex known in history, where the Pyramid of Djoser awaits you.
- The next stop is the ancient capital Memphis, which remains are now an open-air museum. You will see the famous White Sphinx and stand face to face with the Ramses II Colossus.
- You will have lunch in an good local restaurant.
- Conclude the day with a visit to the recently opened National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. On April 3, 2021, the Pharaoh’s Golden Parade brought 22 Royal Mummies to the NMEC. You will admire Egyptian history from prehistoric times to the modern-day.
