Itinerary

1. Day 1: Sofia - Veliko Tarnovo

   • Leave Sofia at 8 am.
   • Travel by car from Sofia to Veliko Turnovo. (Distance 221km, App. 2h 40min). 
   • Arrive in Veliko Turnovo around 11 am.
   • Accomodation in a hotel. 
   • Sightseeing: time for visiting the city landmarks, enjoy the beautiful natural views and delicious food. 
   • Have lunch and enjoy some free time.
   • Optional - Sound and Light show ''Tsarevgrad Turnov''.

2. Day 2: Veliko Tarnovo - Balchik

   • Leave the hotel around 8 am.
   • Travel by car from Veliko Tarnovo to Balchik. (Distance 266km; App. 3h15min).
   • Arrive in Balchik around 11.3h.
   • Accomodation in a hotel.
   • Have lunch.
   • Visit Cape Kaliakra fortress - by car around (30 min; 35.9km).
   • Visit Mussel farm - afternoon break.
   • Back to Balchik. 
   • Visit Queen Marie Castel and Botanical Garden. 
   • Enjoy Wine tasting at the Royal Winery.
   • Free time.

3. Day 3: Balchik - Elena

   • Leave the hotel at around 9 am.
   • Travel by car from Balchik to Pliska (Distance 118km; App.1h 20min).
   • Sightsee and learn about the capital of the First Bulgarian Empire. 
   • Have lunch.
   • Travel by car from Pliska to Elena (Distance 150км; App. 2h.20min).
   • Accomodation at a hotel.
   • Free time.

4. Day 4: Elena - Sofia

   • Leave the hotel after breakfast at around 9 am.
   • Sightseeing in Elena: enjoy the beautiful view of the Yovkovtsi dam.
   • Have lunch.
   • Travel back to Sofia. (Around 260km; App. 3.3h)
   • Drop off in Sofia.
