Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park
- Have a warm welcome from your driver-guide, who also doubles as your tour leader. Later, he will brief you upon arrival at Kigali airport. This will give you insight into what you should expect on this Rwanda tour.
- Afterwards, drive to Volcanoes National Park for about 2-3 hours in a 4×4 drive vehicle.
- Relax, dine, and spend a night at your lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
- Have breakfast early. Later, go for a briefing at Kinigi beginning at 7:00 am. This is to let you know essential guidelines to observe on gorilla trekking.
- At 8:00 am, start your trek to see mountain gorillas. The park official will have already assigned you a gorilla group and park guide by this time, and you may take 2-6 hours tracking gorillas.
- When you find gorillas, you have 1 hour to enjoy a magical encounter. This primate experience requires some physical wellness in you. Essentially, carry some packed snacks plus bottled drinking water.
- Later, expect to walk back to relax at the lodge.
- Spend your evening on a nature walk to twin lakes. That is Lake Ruhondo and Burera (optional).
- Have dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 3: Dian Fossey tomb hike in Volcanoes National Park
- Have the best of your leisurely breakfast in the morning.
- Afterwards, leave your lodge to brief the Dian Fossey tomb hike at the Kinigi offices.
- The hike to the Dian Fossey tomb site takes you through the lush vegetation. Expect to also sight birds and wildlife. Entirely, the Dian Fossey tomb hike provides insight into your gorilla conservation story. It is an inspirational story that is not missed on the Rwanda tour. Dian Fossey spent over 18 years researching gorillas. But unfortunately, she was mysteriously killed in 1985. She was laid to rest near Digit, the silverback gorilla she treasured.
- Return to the lodge to dine and spend a night.

Day 4: Return to Kigali International Airport
- Start your day with breakfast in the lodge, and after, expect to check out.
- Later, drive back to Kigali. This will be about a 2-3 hours’ drive and upon early arrival, catch up with your departure flight.
This marks the end of your four-day Rwanda gorilla and Dian Fossey safari.
