Can Gio Biosphere Reserve
- Meet the tour guide and driver at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh at 8:00 am and transfer to Can Gio.
- Reach the forest after a 2-hour drive. Then you cross the Binh Khanh ferry, where you can observe the dense mangrove forest while travelling. Can Gio is now completely restored after being destroyed in the war. In 2000, UNESCO granted it the status of a biosphere reserve. Enjoy breathing in fresh air while wandering in the Can Gio forest.
- Stop at Monkey Island. You can visit Can Gio Museum, Mangrove Forest Park and Fauna Conservatory, where you can observe numerous animals, such as saltwater crocodiles, wild cats, otters, pythons, deer and wild monkeys that like to play with visitors.
- Canoe into the small canals in the forest. You will observe the mangrove forest system and the Rung Sac Guerilla Base. Also, learn about the stories of this forest during the Vietnam War. You will see that Can Gio played an essential part in protecting Vietnam's soldiers. Then we'll have lunch at the local restaurant.
- Continue the trip in Can Gio and visit the Whale Tomb, where people worship the whale carcass. At Can Thanh town, learn more about the local culture of this sea animal from local people.
- Return to Ho Chi Minh city. Spend 2 hours in the car again to reach Ho Chi Minh city around 5.00 pm.
