Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrive at Carrasco International Airport

   • Arrive at the Airport, meet with the driver, then head straight to your Boutique Hotel located in the upmarket neighbourhood of Carrasco. 
   • If arriving early you will have time to lunch or chill at the pool. 
   • Rest of day is at your own leisure. 
   • We recommend taking a walk through the neighbourhood.
   • Enjoy a sunset drink followed by a romantic dinner with wine. 

2. Day 2: Wine Tour & Sightseeing in Montevideo

   • After breakfast at the property, go on a Full Day Trip seeing the Best sights and attractions of Montevideo, where you can stop at best places to take pictures. 
   • Enjoy a Gourmet Lunch with wine at a family winery in the heart of the Canelones wine region. You will be received by a wine expert at the winery, who will guide you to the vineyards, winery, cellar and packaging room followed by a wine-paired lunch right in front of the vineyard. 
   • This is more of an educational experience, where you will learn about Uruguay wines in a fun interactive atmosphere hosted by a winery expert, who will direct you through the wines including Tannat. 
   • Travel back to your hotel and chill at the pool. 
   • Join us for dinner with wine. 

3. Day 3: Full Day Trip to Colonia del Sacramento

   • Have breakfast at them hotel travel to Colonia del Sacramento, where you will visit a world heritage site and see sweeping views of the river plate. 
   • Halt at Nueva Helvecia, formerly known as Colonia Suiza, where the residents have maintained their Swiss traditions and customs to this day. 
   • Make another stop at Plaza de Toros de San Carlos, a former bullring. The arena hosted a total of eight fights before bull fighting was prohibited by the Uruguayan National Government in 1912. 
   • Next stop will be the Historic Plaza near the Old Fort, a world heritage site.
   • Free time including lunch at your leisure. We will recommend a lovely place. 
   • Return to Montevideo with time to relax followed by dinner with wine. 

4. Day 4: Montevideo- Piriapolis- Casapueblo- Punta del Este

   • Have breakfast at the hotel, check-out, and head to Punta del Este. 
   • Halt at a new winery in Piriapolis, where you will have a very scenic walk through their coastal vineyards followed by a complete wine tasting with a light lunch (plates of cheeses, cured hams, empanadas and snacks). This winery produces delicious fresh wines just 3km from the ocean. 
   • Savour the taste of many wines, including Albariño, Viognier and Tannat. 
   • Next stop will be Casapueblo, constructed by Uruguayan artist Carlos Páez Vilaró. It is located in Punta Ballena, 13 kilometres from Punta del Este. Initially, it was the artist's summer home and workshop, and now includes a museum, an art gallery, a cafeteria and a hotel in its facilities.
   • Head to Sacromonte Wine Lodge your luxury accommodation for 4 nights, which featured in Travel & Leisure, Conde Nast Traveller, Wallpaper, The Times, UK and on the cover of TIME magazine!
   • Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival, then free time to relax. 
   • Each shelter will have their own golf cart to use. 
   • Sunset time followed by dinner with wine at your shelter. 

5. Day 5: Sacromonte Day Experience

   • After breakfast in your shelter, enjoy a Full Day experience at Sacromonte.
   • Explore the property on your private golf cart. 
   • Visit the chapel at the top of the hill, then take a small hike to the panoramic lookout followed by a lovely walk through the brook, which is like walking through a small forest and stream surrounded by trees. 
   • Upon returning to your shelter take a dip in the splash pool.
   • Have lunch with wine served at the top of the hill with breathtaking views. 
   • Before sunset, go horse riding through the vineyards. 
   • Dinner will then be served at the shelter with some wine.

6. Day 6: Punta del Este Sightseeing

   • After breakfast enjoy a Full Day Experience in Punta del Este. 
   • You will get to see Playa Mansa, the peninsula, lighthouse, Port area and famous hand out of the sand called La Mano, where you can stop to take pictures. 
   • You have the option to do some sightseeing or spend time at the beach.
   • Travel to the beach town of La Barra around 13:30 and visit a small winery in the countryside. This will be a great opportunity to taste more Tannat made in very small quantities. 
   • Have a Gourmet Lunch with wines and enjoy beautiful views of the vineyard. The winery make their own artisanal cheeses, bread, olive oil, jams, cured hams, pasta, dulce de leche (known as caramel), grappa and of course wine!
   • Head to Pablo Atchugarry's Museum, famous for his abstract sculptural art. 
   • In the latter afternoon head to Sacromonte with many fond memories.
   • Time to relax and freshen up followed by dinner at the shelter with some wine.

7. Day 7: Stop in Jose Ignacio followed by a Wine Paired Lunch at Bodega Garzon

   • After breakfast enjoy a trip to the beach town of Jose Ignacio, a fishing village turned upscale resort, which is a flashy, lively extension of Punta del Este’s social scene. 
   • Visit the lighthouse, then enjoy free time to explore the town, having a coffee or spend time at the beach. 
   • You will then travel to Pueblo Garzon and take amazing pictures. 
   • Head to Bodega Garzon for a Wine Paired lunch with beautiful views of the vineyards that won the Award of Best Winery in the Southern Hemisphere. 
   • You will then head back to Sacromonte with many fond memories.
   • Join us for a farewell sunset drink at the top of the hill. 
   • Farewell dinner served at the shelter with some wine.

    

8. Day 8: Depart for Carrasco International Airport

   • Have breakfast at the hotel, then head straight to Carrasco Airport in Montevideo for your flight back home.
