Get multiple stops like the Shira Camp, Barranco Camp, Barafu Camp, Millennium Camp, etc.
Itinerary
-
Day 1 - Machame Gate To Machame Camp
- The guides and a mountain support crew will meet you at the hotel in the morning and hold a quick briefing session, after which you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro National Park's entrance gate, Machame Gate (1,800 m).
- After acquiring climbing permits and registration with the search and rescue service, the group will start hiking up to Machame Camp (3,010 m). The route includes passage through the rainforest (where tropical showers are highly probable), so we recommend you take spare clothes and your raincoats.
-
Day 2 - Machame Camp To Shira Camp
- After breakfast, you will trek up to the second high-altitude camp, the Shira Camp (3,845 m).
- Today, you will emerge from the dense rainforest and, for the first time, be able to see magnificent views of the Shira Plateau laid out in front of you. Physically speaking, trekking is not very difficult. Still, you may feel the changes in altitude, so take care of your body and remember that choosing the proper pace is very important for good trekking.
- Once you reach the camp, we will have lunch and some rest, after which the group will embark on an acclimatization hike towards Lava Tower Camp.
Back down at Shira Camp, have a delicious hot dinner.
-
Day 3 - Shira Camp To The Lava Tower & Descent To Barranco Camp
- After breakfast, we will leave Shira Camp (3,845 m) and start our way to the main point of the route: Lava Tower (4,630 m). This route has many ascents and descents that end in a camp at over 4,600 meters. It might be difficult, and you may also feel some discomfort, but to successfully acclimatize to the height, you have to spend at least 1 to 2 hours here so that we will take a lunch break.
- Then you will go down to Barranco Camp (3,960 m). Here you can see Barranco Wall, impressive in both its massive size and steepness! The next day you will be climbing it, but don't worry: it features a short hiking trail.
-
Day 4 - Barranco Camp To Barafu Camp
- Early morning, wake up, have breakfast and proceed to the summit of Barranco Wall. Hiking up the gorge wall is comparatively easy and only takes around an hour. After the hike, you can have a rest and take photos in front of the Kibo volcano.
- Then, start a more strenuous hike to Karanga Camp, which features various ascents and descents during the route, but our guides will choose an optimal pace for the group. Once we reach the camp, you will be offered hot lunch.
- After a few hours, you will have to ascend to Barafu Camp (4,640 m), where you will be served a delicious dinner. We recommend you spend the remainder of the day resting and sleeping before the night summit.
-
Day 5 - Ascent to Uhuru Peak & Descent to Millennium Camp
- Depart from Barafu Camp (4,640 m) at night and the start for the summit of Kilimanjaro: Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). Technically the climb is comparatively simple; however, the most difficult part is the high altitude. Each pair of hikers will get a personal guide for the entire ascent to monitor your physical and mental status.
- After your successful ascent to Uhuru Peak, you can go down to the nearest glacier if you desire. Then we will return to Barafu Camp and, after a 2-hour rest, continue your descent to Millennium Camp (3,820 m).
-
Day 6 - Descent from Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate
- After a warm breakfast, we will head for the park's exit: Mweka Gate (1,640 m).
- After your descent, the whole group will have gathered to congratulate you, followed by asking you to share your opinions on the hike in the guestbook.
- Finally, we will present you with your commemorative certificates in our office and provide you with a transfer back to the hotel.
