Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival

   • Arrive at San Cristobal Island and transfer to the hotel.

   • Have lunch and hike to Lobería: a mangroves beach where we can observe sea lions, marine iguanas, frigate birds.

   • Walk at the cliff and see swallow-tailed gulls, blue-footed boobies.

   • Returning to the beach, we go in search of sea turtles, sea lions.

     • Optional: Kayak tour to Playa Mann or Darwin Bay: $25 per person.

2. Day 2: San Cristobal Island Highlands

   • Our first stop is the Junco lagoon, where frigates are generally drying their wings.

   • Go to the Galapaguera turtle reserve and see the giant tortoises.

   • Hike to Puerto Chino, a white sand beach where you can relax and swim before returning to port.

     • Optional: Instead of Puerto Chino, we can hike (medium difficulty) through a forest of giant cacti in the “Opuntia Garden” until “Veinte Varas”.

3. Day 3: Kicker Rock

   • Boat trip for snorkelling at Kicker Rock, looking for sea lions, marine iguanas, many species of tropical fish.

   • Then, enjoy a nice stop on a beautiful beach for lunch on board and then relax and swim around the beach. Return to port.

   • After a short break, have an easy walk to the hill of frigates and see the statue of Darwin (which was the first place to get anchored in the islands).

   • Last stop is Playa Carola.

4. Day 4: Isabela Island

   • In the morning, trip by plane to Isabela Island (40min flight).

   • On arrival, head to the Wetlands: RAMSAR site that hosts big biodiversity: shorebirds, marine iguanas, turtles.

   • Then go to the Tintoreras islet: it comes from an islet off Isabela, there you can usually see: Galapagos penguins, marine iguanas, sharks resting in a channel formed by lava, Galapagos Hawks.

   • Snorkel in the bay.

5. Day 5: Sierra Negra Volcano

   • Hike to Sierra Negra Volcano: first by car and then hike up to the crater.

   • Continue to Chico Volcano. The lava flows are awesome!

   • Lunch at a local farm.

     • Optional: Instead of Sierra Negra Volcano: hiking (intensive) to sulfur mines “Volcan de Azufre” with boxed lunch.

6. Day 6: Santa Cruz Island

   • Early departure by speedboat to Santa Cruz Island.

   • Visit the highlands to see turtles in their natural habitat, lava tunnels, and the Twin Craters.

   • Have lunch and tour to Playa Tortuga Bay, where we can see iguanas and shorebirds.

     • Optional: Kayaking: $25 per person.

7. Day 7: Floreana Island

   • A trip to Floreana Island. Snorkel in Daylight or Lobería and visit “Asilo de la Paz” (giant turtles, pirates, and caves)

     • Options: Boat trip to an uninhabited island as Plazas, Seymour or Bartolome, instead of Floreana: $61 per person

8. Day 8: Departure

   • Free time until transfer to the airport.

     • Optional: Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station (free entrance)
