The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arusha National Park and Lake Momella

Meet your tour guide when they pick you up from your Arusha hotel at 8 a.m. Visit Arusha National Park, where beautiful Lake Momella is situated. View the bronze bush, home to the buffalo, waterbuck, giraffe, warthog, zebra, and gazelle of the Ngurdoto Crater all year long.

Take a stroll that allows you to experience the vibrant pulse of Africa through the soles of your shoes. Explore surroundings filled with chirping birds, buzzing insects, and distant savannah cries.

Reach a beautiful place famous for the antics of black-and-white colobus monkeys by hiking through a verdant forest to a dazzling waterfall.

2
Day 02

Tarangire Wildlife Safari and Transfer to Mto Wa Mbu

Travel to the peaceful and beautiful Tarangire National Park. Especially between July and October, when the Tarangire River is completely flooded, this sizable park has a diverse concentration of wildlife.

Watch the magnificent African elephant, the world's largest terrestrial mammal. These gorgeous, clever animals roam in herds and care for their young at their own pace.

Enjoy the opportunity to observe a bewildering array of species, such as lions, giraffes, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetahs, mongooses, buffalo, and baboons. Watch the flash of a red-and-yellow barbet or the tawny eagle circling leisurely overhead.

Drive to Mto Wa Mbu with a picnic lunch and arrive in the late afternoon.

Enjoy a delicious dinner while relaxing and drinking in the African sunset.

Accommodation: A campground with a view

3
Day 03

Lake Natron and Views of Oldoinyo Lengai

Leave for Lake Natron, famous for its salinity and the special effects it creates - the lake's rusty colour results from organisms that prefer an alkaline environment.

In the shallows, observe salt-crust rafts strewn about. The lake is home to more than half of the world's lesser flamingos, and as they settle and stalk the still waters, pink clouds are likely to appear in the sky.

Experience a mysterious landscape of freshwater and saltwater wetlands with distinctive vegetation that leads to beautiful waterfalls.

View the amazing Oldoinyo Lengai, also known as the Mountain of God in Maasai, the language of the Maasai people. This active volcano creates hornitos, magnificent statues made of cooled lava.

4
Day 04

Journey via Loliondo to Serengeti National Park

Travel through the popular towns of Loliondo and Wasso via Klein's Gate at the park's northeast entrance.

Enjoy an opportunity to see antelope, wildebeest, and zebra along the way.

Once you reach the Serengeti on this safari, you can stretch your legs. Fill up on a hearty dinner and get a good night's rest.

Accommodation: Nyani campsite

5
Day 05

Full-Day Game Viewing in the Serengeti

Continue into the magnificent Serengeti's expansive grasslands, home to hundreds of different species of animals and birds. See lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, and water buffalo up close inside your jeep.

Watch as millions of zebra and wildebeest migrate across the plains, risking their lives as they attract predators that are also simply trying to survive.

Eland, hyenas, gazelles, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, and rhinos are just a few of the less well-known but no less stunning animals that you might see in the park.

Later, savour a delicious, freshly prepared meal while gazing at the stars.

Accommodation: Nyani campsite

6
Day 06

Serengeti Landscapes to Ngorongoro Crater Rim

Drive on safari through the Serengeti to experience its views, sounds, boundless sky, golden grasslands scattered with acacia, and ever-changing landscapes. After lunch, depart on your next excursion, which involves exploring the distinctive Ngorongoro Crater.

Spend the night here, right on the crater's rim. This is a great location for pleasure and leisure. Drink in the amazing colours of the setting sun as they spread over the grassland and the caldera below as nightfall approaches, and enjoy a great meal under the stars.

Accommodation: Simba campsite

7
Day 07

Ngorongoro Crater Safari and Transfer to Lake Eyasi

Eat a hearty, nutritious breakfast before travelling to the crater. Numerous grazing animals and their predators are drawn to the volcanic environment because of its abundance and fertility.

On this safari tour, get the chance to see animals including zebras, wildebeest, and cackling hyenas. Enjoy a leisurely picnic lunch next to a hippo-filled pond before visiting Soda Lake to see graceful flamingo flocks, along with storks, ibis, and cranes.

Set out for Lake Eyasi in the late afternoon to arrive in time for a tranquil stroll along the lakefront at dusk, followed by a well-earned rest.

Accommodation: Campsite

8
Day 08

Lake Eyasi Hadzabe Visit and Return to Mto Wa Mbu

Visit Lake Eyasi and meet one of the last remaining hunting and gathering tribes in the world. Join this experience in 2023, from January to December. The Hadzabe Bushpeople do not cultivate food, keep livestock, or follow laws or calendars. They continue to lead a hunter-gatherer lifestyle that has not changed much in 10,000 years.

Observe the Hadzabe's traditional hunting techniques and other means of subsistence.

After lunch, set out for Mto Wa Mbu, a short distance from the entrance to our next national park, Lake Manyara.

Spend the evening reflecting on your experiences so far and unwinding with a drink while taking in the sounds of the night.

Accommodation: Panorama campsite

9
Day 09

Lake Manyara Wildlife Safari and Return to Arusha

Discover the wildlife of Lake Manyara National Park, a patchwork of diverse landscapes including the shrubby expanse of the golden savannah, the narrow shores teeming with wildlife, and the still waters of Lake Manyara itself. The park is nestled at the foot of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

Look out for elephants and baboon groups that swoop and cry to one another while never seeming to stop for air.

See the fabled tree-climbing lions, the strong water buffalo, the magnificent African elephant, the giraffe, the impala, and the hippo. Enjoy a picnic in the middle of the park.

On your way to Arusha, pass through Maasai bomas, baobab forests, and undulating savannah grasslands.
