Embark on a 5-day tour of Northern Ethiopia which includes visits to the Medieval Monasteries, the Lake Tana Island, Blue Nile Waterfall, Royal castles of Gondor, Simien Mountains National Park and the Churches of Lalibela. Delve into the beauty and quietude of these sights as you tour through breathtaking topographies that are densely populated with endemic species of flora and fauna.
Itinerary

Day 1: Addis Ababa - Bahir Dar
- Transfer to the airport from Addis Ababa for an early flight to Bahir Dar. Have breakfast and pay a morning visit to the medieval churches of Ura Kidane Miheret on the Zege Peninsula (Lake Tana).
- Return to Bahir Dar for lunch and in the afternoon drive 37 kilometres to the small town of Tis Abay to visit the Blue Nile Falls.
- Head back to Bahir Dar for an overnight stay. You could visit cultural nightclubs that display folkloric dances nightly or choose to call it a day.

Day 2: Bahir Dar - Gondar
- Drive to Gondar after breakfast. Once there, head for a cultural restaurant in the town to have a taste of the local food and drink.
- In the afternoon you will visit the Royal Castles of Gondar, the Bath of Emperor Fasiledes, and Debrebirhan Selassie Church with its magnificent paintings.

Day 3: Gondar - Simien Mountains - Gondar
- Day trip driving to the Simien Mountains National Park, one of the first natural sites in the world registered by UNESCO. Here you will have the chance to see up-close and click pictures of, a troop of the endemic Gelada Baboon. Despite being home of some of the endemic mammals in Ethiopia, Simien Mountains National Park has breathtaking scenery that gives you a chance to relax and hike. Drive back to Gondar in the afternoon, where you could spend the evening at leisure.

Day 4: Gondar - Lalibela
- Fly to Lalibela in the morning and explore the 11, rock-hewn Churches of Lalibela. By far one of the most visited religious sites, Lalibela was built by King (Saint) Lalibela who set out to create a 'New Jerusalem' when Muslim conquests had halted Christian pilgrimage in the area. Spend this night in a hotel in Lalibela.

Day 5: Lalibela - Addis Ababa
- Head towards Addis Ababa where you could spend half a day visiting some interesting sites in the city like 'Mercato', which is the largest market in Africa. Or, you could go to coffee and souvenir shops in the city. In the evening you will be our guest in one of the cultural restaurants in Addis Ababa to see a variety of Ethiopian traditional dances while enjoying the country’s most delicious food and drinks. Then you will be transferred to the airport or your accommodation.
