Itinerary

1. Day 1: City Tour of Cusco

   • Get a pick-up from your hotel to visit the attractive sites of Cusco with a professional guide at 1:00 pm. Visit the following:

   • The Koricancha Palace and Convent of Santo Domingo: Religious center known as "The Temple of the Sun" where you will admire the impressive engineering used in its construction.

   • The Cathedral: Colonial religious monument of extraordinary artistic value. 

   • Sacsayhuaman: Built at 3 kilometres from the city of Cusco, an impressive stone fortress with excellent architecture.

   • Qenqo: Ceremonial and ritual center, an arena where sacrifices were made.

   • Puca-Pucara: An old Tambo (resting place), monitoring place throughout the Inka Empire Routes.

   • Tambomachay: Built at 7 kilometres from the city of Cusco, ceremonial center of cult to the water, known traditionally as the place where water rests.

   • Complete your sightseeing and return to Cusco around 6:30 pm.

2. Day 2: Cusco - Inca Trail

   • Get an early pick-up from your hotel and drive to the train station to board the train to Machu Picchu. 

   • Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way and begin the two-day hike around 10.30 am after disembarking.

   • Pass the ruins of Chacchabamba (2250 meters) before stopping for a picnic lunch at around 1:00 pm.

   • Get to the archaeological site of WiñaWayna (2650 meters) to have a guided tour and a rest.

   • Continue our trip to the Puerta del Sol (Sun Gate or “Inti Punku”), where you might see one of the most beautiful sunsets of your life.

   • Continue your hike to Aguas Calientes, where you'll spend your night at a hotel. 

3. Day 3: Inca Trail - Machu Picchu

   • After a very early breakfast, take the first bus from Aguas Calientes to the citadel of Machu Picchu for a sunrise view. 

   • Reach Machu Picchu in time for the sunrise, which is a truly magical experience – it is the only time of day when the citadel of Machupicchu are tranquil and nearly empty of people.

   • Proceed for a guided tour of about two and a half hours, followed by some time free to explore Machupicchu, wander around, and have lunch (not included).

   • Head to the train station in Aguas Caliente to take the train back to Cusco.

   Departs: Between 5:45-6:00 am from Cusco on Day One.

   Returns: Between 6:00-8:00 pm on Day Two.

4. Day 4: Cusco - Vinicunca or The Rainbow Mountain

   • Transfer from your hotel at 3:00 am. The tour will be 3 hours long approximately until the village of Pitumarka, where you'll have your breakfast. 

   • Continue the trip to the village of Chilca; from this point, you will start your adventure. 

   • See beautiful landscapes full of streams, mountains, lakes, snow-capped mountains, and flora and fauna. 

   • Reach your final destination - Vinicunca or The Rainbow Mountain.

   • Take adequate time to capture this magical place in photographs and your memories.

   • In addition to this place, appreciate the Apu Ausangate, Nevado more revered by the Incas.

   • Live this magical experience and descend again to have Chilca lunch.

   • Return to the city of Cusco by 6:30 pm approximately. 

5. Day 5: Cusco - Puerto Maldonado (Amazon Tour)

   • Fly from Cusco to  Puerto Maldonado, Peru´s capital city of biodiversity.

   • Upon your arrival in Puerto Maldonado, meet a local representative at the airport. 

   • Start your program with a visit around the city, on a bus. 

   • Go to Puerto Capitanía to board a motorised riverboat, and you´ll navigate on the Madre de Dios River. During the journey, submerge into a fascinating natural environment; if you are lucky, you might witness Ronsocos, Caimans, Turtles, Herons, Cormorants and other animal species in their natural habitat.

   • Arrive at the Eco Amazonia Lodge and enjoy an exquisite welcome drink. Get settled in your bungalows and have lunch together.

   • In the afternoon, accompanied by a specialised guide, visit Monkey Island, a unique place in the heart of Madre de Dios River, five minutes away from the lodge.

   • During the hike, observe extraordinary landscapes, with an exuberant flora, sheltering various monkey species in their natural habitats, such as Maquisapas, Capuchins, Small Lion Monkeys, Frailes, Cotos and other animal species like the Coati and Sloths and a great variety of birds.

   • Complete your visit to the island, enjoying the sunset, with the most impressive dusk in the jungle.

   • Head back to the lodge and conclude the day with a pleasant dinner.

6. Day 6: In Puerto Maldonado (Amazon Tour)

   • Have breakfast and start an adventure in the virgin rainforest, accompanied by a naturalist.

   • Go on a hike in the deep jungle to get to the Lost Cocha, which constitutes a refuge and feeding ecosystem for a huge variety of animals.

   • Have the chance to observe Otters, Caimans, Turtles, Sachavacas (Tapirs), birds with multicoloured feathers, the majestic Jaguar, and various fish species.

   • Head to the extraordinary Observation Deck, from where you´ll be able to appreciate the immense and magical rainforest.

   • Afterwards, have a pleasant canoe ride around the lake and return to the lodge for lunch.

   • In the afternoon, pay an optional visit to the local Botanical Garden, or if you prefer, you´ll have the option to relax around the pool.

   • In the evening, enjoy your farewell dinner, a fun night at the bar and game room to say goodbye to friends you made during your stay. 

7. Day 7: Puerto Maldonado - Cusco - Puno

   • After a restful night’s sleep, the morning begins with the sound of beautiful birdsongs from the Amazon Paradise.

   • Enjoy a farewell breakfast before embarking on the return to Puerto Maldonado.

   • Board the flight from Puerto Maldonado to Cusco.

   • In the afternoon, take the bus from Cusco to Puno.

   • Arrive Puno and get a transfer to the hotel. 

8. Day 8: Tour of Lake Titicaca, Uros Island and Taquile

   • After breakfast at your hotel, get a pick-up to start the tour and go to Suasi. 

   • On the way, visit two islands - Uros and Taquile Islands.

   • First, make a stop at Uros Islands: Stepping on them feels very much like a water bed (but it is relatively safe). See the houses and meet their friendly inhabitants. Uros people are descendants of one of the oldest South American groups. Rides on traditional reed boats can be arranged. Visit two of the 60 islands before continuing to Taquile Island.

   • After simple navigation of two and a half hours, get the chance to enjoy the spectacular views offered by Lake Titicaca. 

   • Observe the individual community's artwork. Meet women of the community who are outstanding weavers. Their textile arts have been declared the world’s heritage by UNESCO. 

   • Take a long path gradually ascending to the village; the views are unique and worth visiting the communal cooperative.

   • Continue your trip to Suasi Island for an overnight stay. 

9. Day 9: Suasi Island - Puno

   • After breakfast, continue exploring the Suasi Island and observe the pace of the local’s daily life.

   • At midday, motorboat the way back to Puno.

   • Reach Puno and transfer to Hotel Hacienda Plaza de Armas. 

10. Day 10: Chullpas of Sillustani and Fly from Juliaca - Lima

    • Head to Juliaca's Airport (1hour from Puno) and en-route visit the Chullpas of Sillustani.

    • Visit the archaeological site of Sillustani, located 34 kilometres away from the city of Puno.

    • Enjoy stunning highland landscapes and imposing pre-Inca architecture. The site is strategically positioned on the top of a peninsula surrounded by a beautiful lagoon called Umayo lagoon. The archaeological site of Sillustani was a cemetery built in the 13th century by a civilisation that occupied the area before the Inca domination. The most imposing burial towers were built for the chiefs and priests. The cemeteries were considered sacred places.

    • Complete your visit and get to Juliaca's Airport and fly to Lima. Your tour comes to an end here.
