Berat City Tour
Tirana - Belsh - Berat - Çobo Winery - Durrës - Tirana
- After a brief introduction to the tour program, the tour continues to Berat via Belsh, where we will have a coffee break in the lake town.
- We will continue driving and arrive in Berat. We will start with a visit to the Castle (Kalaja). Inside there, we will visit their interior and exterior, some byzantine and post byzantine churches like; St Todri, St. Mary Vllaherna, St. Nicola, St. Constantine and Helena, Holy Trinity and St. Mitri.
- All the churches in their interior still preserve wall paintings realized in fresco technique.
- At the end of the castle tour, we will visit St Mary's Annunciation Cathedral, which today houses the Onufri museum, which houses some of the Onufri and Nicola masterpieces of XVI-century Albanian iconography.
- Leaving the castle next visit will be to the lower town, first walking through the Mangalem quarter, and after this, by foot, we will visit the Gorica Bridge and Gorica Quarter.
- Next, we will walk to the Medieval Center, including the Helveti Teke (an inside visit), the King Mosque, and Dervish's Konak.
- Please continue the wine tasting in Çobo Winery, 12 km from Berat, where we will have a good time in a traditional agricultural landscape.
- Continue driving and arrive at Durrës, the country's main harbour. Here, some Roman and Byzantine heritage is still preserved, such as the theatre, Byzantine wall fortification and oval forum.
