Itinerary

1. Day 1: Mount Meru Climb: Base to Miriakamba Hut

   • Transfer from your hotel in Arusha to the National Park Gate located at Momella.

   • Begin your trek by entering the park, and traverse a lush forest.

   • Cross the Ngare Nanyuki River on your way to Miriakamba Hut, situated at an elevation of 8,337 feet (2,541 meters).

   • Arrive at Miriakamba Hut and set up camp for an overnight stay.

2. Day 2: Little Meru (12450ft./3794m)

   • Continue your ascent, staying on the path that gradually becomes steeper. Enjoy the pleasant forest glades and pass through areas adorned with magnificent giant heather. Climb higher until you reach Saddle Hut, situated at 11,713 feet (3,570 meters). This will be your base for the night. 

   • Settle at Saddle Hut; you can attempt a summit push to Little Meru, which stands at 12,450 feet (3,794 meters).

   •  Hike, if you like to the summit of Little Meru and then return to Saddle Hut. Camp overnight at Saddle Hut, resting and preparing for the next adventure.

3. Day 3: Final descent to your hotel

   • Wake up early to begin your final ascent towards the summit of Mount Meru. Start by heading towards Rhino Point, a significant milestone on your journey. From there, continue your climb towards the summit.

   • Reach the highest point of Mount Meru, standing at an impressive elevation of 14,981 feet (4,566 meters). Take in the breathtaking views and celebrate your accomplishment at the summit.

   • Begin descending from the summit, going down to Momella Gate.

   • Once you reach Momella Gate, meet your vehicle to transfer back to the base hotel.

   • Enjoy a well-deserved dinner and spend the night at the hotel, relishing in the memories of your Mount Meru adventure.
