You will be picked up at Early Morning from any hotel in Kandy. Start your tour to Dambulla.
Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. It is home to the world's most acclaimed cave complex of magnificent Buddha images and rock paintings of vivid colours and shapes constructed and painted from around 2nd century BC (Anuradhapura era) and continued up to the Kandyan era of the 18th century. Sinhalese people call it Dambulla Rock and the Temple is called the ' Rangiri Dambulu Viharaya' (Golden Rock Dambulla Temple).
Finish sightseeing in Dambulla City and leave for Sigiriya.
Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and en-route sightseeing in Sigiriya Village. Sigiriya is a large rock fortress surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs and other structures. Sigiriya is renowned for its ancient frescoes. It is one of the eight World Heritage Sites. The UNESCO, too, has declared Sigiriya as the 8th Wonder of the World.
Leave for Pidurangala Rock after lunch. Pidurangala Rock is adjacent to Sigiriya Rock and is the best viewing spot of Sigiriya Rock as it is only slightly lower. It is a popular spot for sunrise as you can enjoy 360-degree views of not only the valleys but also Sigiriya Rock. There is no need to choose between the two. Many travellers wake up for the sunrise at Pidurangala and then head to sunset on top of Sigiriya Rock.
