Itinerary

1. Day 01: Marangu/Kilema Gate – Horombo Hut

   • Get picked up from Springlands Hotel at 8:30 am.
   • Drive through Kilimanjaro’s semi-tropical foothills to Marangu Gate.
   • Spend some minutes for registrations and get the permit.
   • Proceed to drive to Kilema gate and enter Kilimanjaro National Park to start riding up to Horombo Hut.

   Today is 100% cycling by bike.

   Cycling distance: 19 km

   Vegetation: Forest and Moorland

2. Day 02: Full Day Horombo Acclimatization

   • Start your cycling after breakfast, riding through the Alpine desert. In some areas, you will ride on a small stone up to Mawenzi Hut and back to Horombo. 

   Today is 90% riding 

   Cycling distance: 10 km

   Vegetation: “Alpine desert

3. Day 03: Horombo – Kibo Hut

   • Continue after breakfast with riding to Kibo Hut; you will ride on a small stone in most areas. 

   Cycling today is 90%.

   Vegetation: Alpine Desert

4. Day 04: Kibo Hut – Summit – Horombo Hut

   • Get awakened by your guides at 4 am to start the zigzag trek up a long screen slop.
   • Travel roughly two hours, and you should reach Hans Meyer’s Cave, where the gradient gets steeper.
   • Continue your climb to Gilman's Point for approximately another 3 hours.
   • Take your bike from porters and start riding to Uhuru Peak.
   • Arrive at Uhuru Peak to spend some time or take photos.
   • Ride down to Stella Point.
   • Proceed to ride down to Horombo after lunch.

   Today, cycling from Kibo to Uhuru and then Kibo 15%-20%, from Kibo to Horombo 100%.

5. Day 05: Horombo Hut –Kilema gate

   • Eat a leisurely breakfast.

   • Make your final ride down to Kilema Gate across the alpine and the rainforest to Kilema Gate.

   • Transfer to Marangu Gate for check-out and then to Springlands Hotel.
