Itinerary

1. LAKE MANYARA | HIGHVIEW HOTEL

   • After breakfast, drive from Moshi (Springlands hotel) to Lake Manyara National Park takes about 4 hours. After having a picnic lunch in Manyara, you start a late afternoon game drive, which is the best time to view animals in this park. When you approach it from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon forming an impressive backdrop to the lake. In the tall trees of the ground water forest, monkeys leap from branch to branch, and on the escarpment, elephants stand in the shade. Other animals frequently seen are zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, and others. Overnight at Highview hotel or similar hotel; -full board.

2. SERENGETI – IKOMA | WILD CAMP

   • Head out after breakfast for the drive to Serengeti National Park. The word “Serengeti” is derived from the Maasai language, meaning “endless plain.”

   • En-route to the Serengeti, you can opt to visit at Masaai Village, a perfect place to explore the Maasai culture and even participate in some tribal activities or Olduvai Gorge, known as the Cradle of Humanity; the Museum is a testament to the long journey that humanity has made from its humble roots in East Africa to its current state as the dominant species on earth. 

   • Enjoy a game drive en-route to your camp. 

   Overnight at Ikoma Wildcamp or similar (with lunch, dinner & breakfast)

3. NATURE WALKING TOUR | NIGHT GAME DRIVE | WILD CAMP

   • Head out after breakfast for the nature walking tour along Grumeti River.

   • Walk back to your lodge in the late afternoon for hot lunch relax while waiting for sun-downer and night game drive in the evening; a whole new world of animal species (nocturnal) awaits you on a night game drive. Ikoma is a scenic gem, with a setting extolled, and it gives you a different perspective of the park and wildlife especially a night game drive.

   • Sit down for dinner consisting of a selection of Swahili cuisine prepared in the Ikoma wild camps.

   • Experience a great night safari after dinner. 

   Overnight at Ikoma Wildamp or similar (with lunch, dinner & breakfast)

4. SERENGETI | WILDBEEST CAMP

   • Start your day early in the morning with a Balloon Safari (if you want).

   • Embark on a full day in the Serengeti with game drives – unequalled for its beauty and home to the Great Wildebeest Migration. The huge herds of plains game such as wildebeest, zebra, and antelope dominate the park while the attendant predators such as lion and cheetah are to be found amongst the many kopjes scattered across the plain. Its landscape varies from open grass plains in the south, savanna with scattered acacia trees in the center, hilly, wooded grassland in the north, to extensive woodland and black clay plains to the west. 

   Overnight at Serengeti Wildbeest camps or similar (with lunch, dinner & breakfast)

5. NGORONGORO | HIGHVIEW | DEPARTURE

   • Enjoy a game drive in the morning en-route to Ngorongoro Crater.

   • Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for game driving and exploration. The crater is 600m deep, 16km across and 265 sq km in area.

   • Enjoy the spectacular scenery and game viewing, in what has been described as the eighth wonder of the world. Many of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino can be seen grazing on the open grassland of the crater floor, surrounded by some of the 20,000 large animals that occupy the crater, including lion, cheetah, eland, zebra and gazelle. Flamingo, among other bird species, can often be seen feeding at Makat Soda Lake as well.

   • Drive to your lodge in the afternoon for your overnight stay.

   Overnight at Highview Hotel or similar (with lunch, dinner & breakfast) 

   • On this day it will depend on your flight schedule so it will also be a departure day
