Marvel at the Saadani, the only wildlife sanctuary in East Africa to boast an Indian Ocean beachfront, possessing all the attributes that makeup Tanzania’s tropical coastline and islands. Experience the magnificent Mikumi has almost guaranteed wildlife sightings, making it an ideal safari destination; get a chance to spot the ‘Big Five’ (cheetah, lion, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) and have an overview of Tanzania’s tropical coastline and islands.

Itinerary

Day 1: From Dar or Tanga - Saadani National Park
- Depart Dar es Salaam at 8:00 am to Saadani National Park with a packed lunch and sunset game viewing.
Dinner and overnight will be at Lodge/Camp.
Day 2: Saadani Fullday Experience
- Go on an early sunrise game viewing.
- Back to the Camp/Lodge for breakfast. Safaris are optional, including walking safaris, game drives and boat safaris. The drives take you to explore the beautiful park along the coast of the Indian Ocean, where you will have a wide variety of activities, including game drives and boat safaris, with short breaks for meals.
- Stay overnight at the Saadani NP camping site located along the beach.
Dinner and overnight will be at Lodge/Camp.
Day 3: Saadani – Mikumi National Park
- In the morning, after breakfast, depart to Mikumi National Park for sunset game viewing.
Dinner and overnight will be at Lodge/Camp.
Day 4: Mikumi National Parks
- In the morning after breakfast, embark on full-day game viewing in the park.
Dinner and overnight will be at Camp.
Day 5: Mikumi – Dar/ Zanzibar Or To Other Destination
- Go for an early sunrise game viewing.
- Back to the lodge/camp for brunch.
- Late afternoon, enjoy a games drive en route back to Dar es Salaam.

Located only 130 km north of Dar es Salaam and directly to the west of Zanzibar Island, Saadani is the only coastal wildlife sanctuary in East Africa, which not only means relaxing on Indian Ocean beaches after each safari but provides the opportunity to observe Africa’s big game and birdlife interacting with the sea. The only wildlife sanctuary in East Africa to boast an Indian Ocean beachfront, it possesses all the attributes that make Tanzania’s tropical coastline and islands popular with European sun-worshippers.

Mikumi is Tanzania’s fourth-largest national park. It’s also the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. Almost guaranteed wildlife sightings make it an ideal safari destination for those without much time. Animals commonly found Include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and elephants. Wild dogs can be seen in packs here.

Most visitors come to Mikumi National Park aiming to spot the ‘Big Five’ (cheetah, lion, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), and they are always not disappointed. Hippo pools provide close access to the mud-loving beasts, and bird-watching along the waterways is particularly rewarding. The Mikumi floodplain is the park's main feature, along with the bordering mountain ranges. Animals commonly found here include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, hippo and elephant. The Mikumi elephants are mainly grazers and do not causes damage.
