Itinerary

1. Tour of the City of Alexandria

   • Upon arrival, your Alexandria tour guide and manager will be waiting inside the Alexandria Port for you. They will be holding a sign showing your name. You do not need to look for them – they will be waiting for you and will find you.
   • Explore the insides of the Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa, the largest Roman Cemetery, consisting of three levels cut in the rock. 
   • Drive to visit the Roman Amphitheater of Alexandria with the display of the sunken monuments of Alexandria, which were discovered under the East Harbour of Alexandria. 
   • Steer through Pompey's Pillar and stop for a photo stop. It was constructed in honour of Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century.
   • Visit the Library of Alexandria, the biggest library in the world – now with 8 million books. Explore its open court, where you can see the Statue of Alexander the Great and the Statue of Ptolemy the First, which was found underwater nearby. You will visit the library's famous Manuscripts Museum, President Saddat Museum and impressions of Alexandria Museum. (Note: Alexandria Library is closed on Fridays and on every public holiday. To enter the reading area, you will need to purchase a ticket.)
   • Continue to the Qaitbay Castle, which was built on the same site as the Ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Once inside, you will see all parts of the castle and also go on the roof to see a panoramic view of the whole city.
   • Eat lunch at a local restaurant in Alexandria.
   • Proceed to the Gardens of Montaza. On the way, you can quickly have a 2-minute stop by the King of Mango and Drink at Alexandrian's drive-thru with freshly squeezed juices and a photo stop at the memorial of the Unknown Soldier of Alexandria.
   • Finally, you will be transferred back to your cruise ship at Alexandria Port.
