Day 01

Pedra da Gávea Summit Hike and Rappel

The Pedra da Gávea tour is one of the most startling and rewarding hiking experiences in Rio de Janeiro. The summit stands at 842 m / 2763 ft above sea level, and the ascent takes around two and a half hours. It is only near the top that the adrenaline begins. Despite a steep but short hand-climbing section of 15 m / 49 ft, there is nothing to fear on the Pedra da Gávea hiking tour. It is perfectly safe and requires no previous experience. From the top, the views over Tijuca Forest and the entire city are terrific, with a glance at Rio's most famous landmarks.
On your way down, you will rappel on the same section where you climbed the rock.

Important: Close to the top, there is a short rocky section where we use safety equipment. It is very easy, quick, totally safe, and perfect for beginners, with no previous climbing experience required.
Round-trip transfer is included from the South Zone: Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, Botafogo, Flamengo, and others. Contact us if you are staying in other parts of Rio or if you want the tour without transfer.
