Explore Agra's Wildlife and Iconic Monuments
- Get picked up from an agreed-upon location in Delhi at 2 AM.
- Move from Delhi to Agra by the Yamuna Express Highway (3-hr drive).
- Marvel at the Taj Mahal early morning around 5:30 AM (one of the seven wonders of the world). The early morning light bathes this monument in a soft, golden colour. Witness how striking the imposing palace looks under the gorgeous rising sun before setting off on a tour of the Taj Mahal grounds.
- Relish breakfast at a top-rated restaurant in Agra.
- Head to the Agra Fort. Erected by Emperor Akbar in 1565 CE, this majestic fort is built of striking red sandstone. Its well-designed buildings are a great combination of Hindu and Central Asian architectural panaches. It has many elegant mosques, courtyards, and private chambers that speak of the tales of the greatness of the Mughal Empire.
- Make your way to the Wildlife SOS Bear Sanctuary. Learn about rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife in distress in the country and preserving the country's heritage.
- Stop for lunch at one of Agra's famous local restaurants.
- Visit the Elephant Conservation and Rescue Center near Mathura, India's only chain-free rescue center. Spend the day working "hands-on" with the elephants, learning about their fundamental needs and natural habits. Depending on your time slot, you may get to feed or walk with some of the elephants.
Return to Delhi.
