Itinerary

1. Day 1: Dar es salaam to Julius Nyerere National Park

   • A 45-minute flight from Dar es salaam will take you to Julius Nyerere National Park, a jungle of marvels! 
   • Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your lodge for check-in and safari briefing.
   • You will have this afternoon at leisure before embarking on your first game drive in the evening around 16h00. 
   • In the evening, we will drive back for dinner and breakfast on a full board basis.

2. Day 2: Julius Nyerere Full day game drive

   • Selous boosts the diversity of wildlife where the Big five can easily be identified. Today, early in the morning, we will leave the camp/lodge with a packed breakfast and disappear into the jungle. Unpredictable as it is, Nyerere National Park is the host to many African Elephants whose presence can be noticed everywhere, from its trucks to the trees that have been broken down while searching for food. 
   • You will enjoy the drive through miombo woodlands accompanied by choruses from various species of passerines. Around 09h00, we will find a beautiful Combretum or on the lakeshore, where we will set up our breakfast and continue the game drive till afternoon. 
   • We go back to the camp/lodge for lunch and afternoon at leisure before going for an evening game drive. 
   • We will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight on the entire board in the evening.

3. Day 3: Fishing trip to the Stieglers Gorge

   • On this day, we will leave the camp early in the morning with a packed breakfast and our fishing gears in the boat and cruise upstream Rufiji river for another adventure. Cruising along the Rufiji river can reward you with leopards drinking on the riverbank, elephants swimming across the river from one side to the other, and or a pride of lions finishing up their kill before disappearing into the thickets. 
   • In the late morning hours also, as we slowly drift back to the camp, we will stop and through our fishing roads for a Catfish or aggressive Tigerfish to be served back at the camp as your choice. 
   • In the afternoon, we will boat back to the camp for lunch and afternoon at leisure. 
   • To be discussed on arrival, this afternoon we can leave for fly camping. This will take you out of your Lodge/Camp and locate a suitable place where we will pitch our fly tents along with our chef, waiter, and armed security guards to ensure our safety during the night. A full bar is set! Open kitchen and a stargazing tent from where you will be practising your astronomy. 

4. Day 4: Leaving the Park and returning to Dar es Salaam/Zanzibar

   • On this day, from the fly camp, we will take a short walking safari to experience and get in contact with the earth while watching birds and identifying trees and flowers. 
   • We will walk back to the fly camp for breakfast before jumping into our game viewer vehicle for a short game drive en route to the camp.  
   • You will pack your luggage and be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Dar es salaam or extend your holiday to the beautiful Island of Zanzibar. 

   End of this tour.
