Itinerary

1. Day 1: Chania Airport/Rethymno to Agios Ioannis

   • Start after pick-up from Chania Airport or Rethymno city accompanied by the Crete tour guide. 

   • After 1 hour and 30 minutes, arrive at the Imbros Gorge and have your breakfast. 

   • Later, start hiking—a 7 km easy walk inside a green paradise of vegetation.

   • Around 03:00 pm, you will be transferred by minibus to Agios Ioannis village located at the height of 850m.

   • Have your lunch and relax.

   • Take an optional short sunset hike in the evening.

2. Day 2: Agios Ioannis To Agia Roumeli

   • After having breakfast with the guide, start hiking on a 7 km path to St. Paul's Chapel in front of the magical Libyan Sea.

   • Swim in the crystal clear waters for about an hour or more. 

   • Continue walking along the coast for 5 km to reach the village of Agia Roumeli at around 02:30 pm, where you will eat and relax.

   • In the evening, you could arrange an extra activity with the guide, such as a sea kayak. 

3. Day 3: Samaria Gorge

   • Hike to the famous Samaria Gorge for 16 km but in the opposite direction so you will have the chance to be alone in the first half of the route. You will be accompanied by amazing rock formations and a river coming from the mountains. 

   • Stop at the old village in the middle of the gorge to eat some snacks before arriving at the Omalos plateau.

   • Later, transfer for lunch by a minibus in a local taverna and return to the hotel in the evening.
