Huascarán National Park Excursion
Meet your Huascaran National Park tour guide at the agreed-upon location in Huaraz and begin the tour at 9 am. You will be transported in an air-conditioned vehicle.
Head in the north direction to Llanganuco Lakes, which are located between the mountains of Huascaran and Huandoy.
Pass by several typical villages appreciating the beautiful white mountains of Huandoy, Huascaran, Hualcan, Copa and others. You can make a photo stop from the various viewing points on the way.
Continue to Carhuaz (2650masl).
Learn about Yungay, the buried city that holds history. A 7-degree earthquake caused an avalanche of mud and ice and in 6 seconds destroyed Yungay province. A guided visit will take you around one hour.
Start ascending the dusty road up to Llanganuco Lakes.
Visit the Orconcocha and Chinacocha Lakes and enjoy bird watching.
