Harvesting saffron tour
Meet and greet your L Aquila tour guide and head out towards the farms to collect saffron in the cold and foggy autumn dawn before they open to the warmth of the sun, one by one, delicately, so as not to disperse the contents.
Bring them home in wicker baskets.
Open by hand, separate the precious red stigmas and yellow stigmas with patience and love.
Collect in sieves and place them to dry in the chimneys with oak embers.
