Itinerary

1. Day 1: Thermopylae - Meteora - Delphi - Arachova - Distomo - Stay at Delphi

   • Start from Athens and then drive to Thermopylae. 

   • Visit Thermopylae's Innovative Centre of Historical Information and see the statue of Leonidas.

   • Drive to the breathtaking Meteora, where you will visit a lot of monasteries, built on top of 1000 foot rocks, such as the Holy Monastery of Varlaam, Rousanou and the Holy Trinity.

   • Enjoy a wonderfully scenic drive through mountains and fertile valleys, and reach Delphi, located under the 3000ft tall mountain Parnassos.

   • Stop by the Archaeological Museum of Delphi; see the Archaeological site of Delphi and the site of the temple of Apollo.

   • Take a break for a coffee at Arachova.

   • Drive through the beautiful stone villages of Arachova, and stop so that you can take photos and buy souvenirs.

   • Explore the town of Distomo.

2. Day 2: Olympia - Mycenae - Temple of Epicurean Apollo - Nafplion

   • Start from Olympia and move to Bassae. It is an archaeological site in Oichalia, a municipality in the northeastern part of Messenia, Greece. In classical antiquity, it was part of Arcadia. Bassae lies near the village of Skliros, northeast of Figaleia, south of Andritsaina and west of Megalopolis. It is famous for the well-preserved mid to late 5th century BCE Temple of Apollo the Epicurean.

   • Arrive at Mycenae, and see its old palaces and monuments with over 5000 years of history.

   • Visit the town of Nafplion with your Greek tour guide.

   • See the great Palamidi castle.

   • Go on a short train tour in the old city and visit Bourtzi by taxi boats.
