Rethymno Tour
Meet your tour guide at the agreed-upon location and start your tour by visiting the area of Rethymno Margarites Village. The village is well known for its pottery which the visitors can purchase along with other items of traditional art from local craft shops. Margarites is worth exploring on foot and you will see beautifully decorated doors and walls which date back from the period of the Venetian occupation.
Head to Arkadi Monastery built on an altitude of 500 m on a plateau with olive groves, vineyards, pine, cypress, and oak trees. UNESCO has declared Arkadi a European Monument of Freedom.
Transfer to Rethymno to stroll around the Venetian harbour, a place brimming with cafes where you can relax in one of the cafes and enjoy the surroundings.
Explore the fortress that dominates the city of Rethymno. The streets are strewn with old charming buildings, minarets and domed mosques that remind of Turkish influence.
