Meet your Peruvian tour guide at the airport or a pre-decided location.
Make your way to Puerto Maldonado, where you will be given relevant information about your trip to the jungle before heading to the river port.
Begin the Tambopata River journey by boat. Keep an eye out for two-toed sloths frequently found on the treetops by the bank. Also, look for capybaras, river turtles, hoatzins, snowy egrets, kingfishers, macaws, toucans and parrots, among many other birds and animals.
Enjoy a captivating view of the sunset from the boat. Tambopata river has one of the most outstanding landscapes at sunset time.
Around twilight, see some nocturnal species that come out to hunt, such as alligators, nighthawks, frogs, and snakes. They are more sensitive to low light and adapt themselves to these conditions.
Return to your lodge at night and settle in your private cabins. Enjoy dinner served at the restaurant of the lodge accompanied by a refreshing drink of seasonal fruits.
Spend the night at the lodge listening to the sounds of the jungle.

Journey by canoe on the final stretch of your trip to Lake Sandoval and make your way to the lake sanctuary, also a part of Tambopata National Reserve. Lake Sandoval is a wildlife refuge that is home to many species such as giant river otters, black caimans, turtles and many exotic birds.
Have a meal by the lake, then relax in hammocks.
In the afternoon, visit an indigenous Machiguenga family and learn about their cultural heritage.
Return to your lodge and prepare for the night hike.

The clay licks in Tambopata are bare cliffs that contain rich deposits of salts and minerals, which are very essential to parrots. The parrots visit the clay licks every morning at sunrise, gather on top of the trees, go down to eat the clay and return to the forest. Watching the parrots is always an absolute delight.
