Itinerary

1. Day 1: Mulu airport - Mulu National Park - Deer Cave - Lang Cave

   • Arrive at Mulu Airport and meet your Malaysian tour guide.

   •  Proceed to Deer Cave which is reached by following a three-kilometre plank walk. On the way to the cave, you'll see the great rainforest, jungle streams, and an ancient Penan burial cave. Deer Cave visit is combined with Lang Cave, whose entrance is a short distance away. Lang Cave is the smallest show cave, but its rock formations are well worth seeing. These are made more attractive by the strategically positioned spotlights that highlight stalactites and stalagmites. 

   • Proceed to the bats' observatory to observe bats flying out of the cave entrance in the late afternoon. Between 5 to 7 pm, if the weather is fine, you may be treated to the spectacular sight of a black cloud of free-tailed bats emerging from the entrance of the cave to go in search of food. 

   • Return by the same plank walk to park headquarters.

2. Day 2: Mulu National Park - Batu Bungan - Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave

   • Have breakfast at Mulu and head to longboats to visit Batu Bungan, a Penan's native Sarawak settlement to observe the tribe lifestyle and to select handicrafts on display for sale at Penan Settlement. 

   • Proceed by longboats to Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave with your Miri local guide. A plank walk leads from the riverbank to the entrance of Wind Cave, so named because of the cool breezes which can be felt at the narrow parts of the cave. Wind Cave, which is part of the Clearwater system, has many impressive stalactites, stalagmites, flow rocks, helictites, and rock corals, some of which are illuminated in the King’s Room. 

   • Move to Clearwater Cave, a fascinating cave with plank walks, paths, and small floating bridges that make this an easy and enjoyable experience.

   • Picnic lunch is served at Clearwater summer hut, there is a crystal clear pool that is filled with water that flows out of the cave. This is an excellent swimming spot for you.

3. Day 3: Gunung Api - Pinnacles - Borneo Jungle

   • After breakfast, ascend to Gunung Api for 3 hours to view the magnificent Pinnacles. During the climb, you will see many species of plants and insects within the isolated jungles of Borneo.  

   Dinner and overnight at Camp 5 dormitory.

4. Day 4: Long Litut - Mulu Airport

   • Have breakfast followed by a jungle trek to Long Litut.

   • Transfer to Clearwater summer hut for picnic lunch. 

   • Enjoy swimming in the clear water spring. 

   • Transfer back by longboat and then to Mulu airport.
