Description
Trace the heritage of different ruling empires in Cairo - Abbasid, Fatimid, Ayyubid Mamluk and Ottoman. Explore the Citadel fortress, the Mohammed Ali Mosque (the Alabaster Mosque), Mosque of Sultan Hassan, Al-Rifa'i Mosque and Mosque of Ahmed Ibn Tulun, built on Mount Yashkur. Collectively these are some of the oldest mosques in the world.

Cairo Sightseeing Tour
Pick up at 8:30 am from your hotel. Start at the Citadel fortress, built by Salah-El-Din in the 12th century, and visit the nearby Mohammed Ali Mosque (the Alabaster Mosque).
Then, visit the Mosque of Sultan Hassan, built between 1356 and 1363 and one of the finest examples of Mamluk architecture in Cairo. It is also considered one of the largest mosques in the whole Islamic world.
Next, go to the Al-Rifa'i Mosque, located next to Sultan Hassan Mosque. It was constructed in two phases over the period between 1869 and 1912.
Take a lunch break, ending the day with a visit to the Mosque of Ahmed Ibn Tulun, built on Mount Yashku. It was the focal point of the Tulunid capital, which lasted only 26 years.
