Bled & Ljubljana From Zagreb
- Pick up from your accommodation in Zagreb and depart for a pleasant 30 min drive to the Slovenia border.
- Reach Lake Bled, situated in the foothills of the Julien Alps. Here, you will get picturesque views of Slovenia’s only island with the Assumption of Mary Church hidden in the lush greenery.
- Take a traditional wooden boat ride to reach the island in the lake's centre and see the church.
- Before leaving, climb up to the Bled Castle rising on the cliff overlooking the lake. With some parts dating back to the 11th century, the oldest castle in Slovenia offers an amazing view over the lake and Alps in the background.
- Go for a half an hour drive from Bled to reach Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital and largest city. The city centre is divided by the Ljubljanica river, and vehicles are limited, making it perfect for cyclists and pedestrians. Here, you will have some free time to enjoy the unique blend of Baroque, Secession and Modernist architecture with a medieval castle overlooking the city.
- Return to your accommodation in Zagreb at the end of the tour.
