Start your tour by visiting the Almourol Castle, an impressive medieval fortress located on a small rocky island in the middle of the Tagus River.
Continue towards the Convent of Christ, which is a former Roman Catholic convent in Tomar. Overnight in Tomar.

Make your way to Dornes, where you can learn about one of the most important battles of medieval Europe in the Battle of Aljubarrota Interpretation Center.
Continue to the Alcobaça Monastery that contains one of the largest Cistercian abbeys in Europe. This architectural masterpiece was ordered to be built by D. Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal.
