Itinerary

1. Day 1 : Kuala Tahan - Jungle Trekking

   • At 7 am, pick up from your hotel and leave for Kuala Tahan.

   • Visit the Canopy Walkway at 11 am and start a jungle trek to Teresek Hills. Discover the different flora and fauna species in the region and visit the aborigine village (Orang Asli) of the Batek tribe from whom the rain forest is the natural habitat. Learn fire-making skills, blowpipe hunting techniques from the natives.

   • At 5 pm, check in to the hotel and rest.

   • Have an authentic Malaysian dinner at the Floating Cafe around 7 pm.

   • Reach the hotel at 10 pm for an overnight stay.

2. Day 2 : Elephant Conservation Centre and Baku caves

   • At 10 am, check out from the hotel and go to the Elephant Conservation Centre, a research and rehabilitation centre established in 1989 to rescue sick and orphaned elephants whose natural habitats had been lost to human development. It acts as a translocation facility and public awareness platform about elephants being an endangered species.

   • Have lunch at noon and watch a show on Catching and Translocation of Rogue Elephants.

   • At 3 pm, depart for Kuala Lumpur and visit en-route to Batu Caves, a limestone outcrop and climb from there to the Temple of Lord Subramaniam, aka Lord Murugan, who is honoured during the Hindu Festival of Thaipusam in January or February every year. The 140 feet statue of the Deity is mesmerizing. It takes its name from the Malay word Batu, meaning 'rock'. The hill was originally known as Kapal Tanggang from the legend of Si Tanggang. 

   • Arrive at Kuala Lumpur by 5 pm.
