The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Paro and Drive to Thimphu

  • Whether you are flying along the Himalayan range from Kathmandu or over the southern foothills from Kolkata, the journey to our beautiful kingdom, covered with forested hills, is fascinating. Along the way, you will enjoy views of green forest mountains and valleys.

  • Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly received by our representative. After completing the airport formalities, begin an interesting 2-hour drive (55 km) to Bhutan's capital city, Thimphu.

  • In the evening, you will be taken to your hotel in Thimphu (3-star and above) for an overnight stay. If your arrival time is in the morning, you can go sightseeing after lunch once you have checked in at the hotel.

Day 02

Thimphu Sightseeing and Transfer to Paro

  • In the morning, after breakfast, you will be taken to Tashi-Cho-Dzong.

  • Visit the Folk and Textile Heritage Museums, a fascinating testimony to Bhutan's living traditions. Here, you can find a wide range of Bhutanese religious texts dating from the 17th century to the present day.

  • Head over to the National Library.

  • After lunch, drive to Paro. The valley of Paro is well known for its heavenly attractions.

  • Visit Ta-Dzong, built in the 17th century and inaugurated as Bhutan's National Museum in 1968.

  • After a while, walk down a hillside trail to visit Rinpung Dzong, which has a long and fascinating history.

  • In the evening, take a stroll around Paro main street for shopping.

Departure from Paro

  • After breakfast, drive to the airport for your flight to your onward destination.

Know before you go

  • Any foreign national travelling to Bhutan requires a valid visa and passport. Upon confirmation of your tour to Bhutan, we will process your visa, which will be ready within one working week.

  • Carrying tobacco products is not allowed in Bhutan and is a punishable offence.

  • All tourists visiting Dzongs and temples must be dressed appropriately. Half pants, sleeveless shirts, floaters, and similar attire are not allowed.

  • All tourists must be reminded by the Bhutanese guide at the time of the visit that there are certain areas where visitors are not allowed to take photographs.

  • Indian Rupee banknotes in denominations of 500 and above are not accepted in Bhutan. In the case of tourists visiting Bhutan, these banknotes shall be retained on entry and returned upon exit.

  • Accommodation in 4-star and 5-star hotels is available at an additional charge.
