Description

Experience soulful landscapes and wildlife of the vast Namib Desert on this guided tour starting from Windhoek. Gaze and climb up the massive Star Dune 45 at Sossusvlei and drive through one of the steepest drives around the world, Spreetshoogte Pass. Also, climb one of the big dunes to spot ostriches, oryx and bat-eared foxes, and see the dried-up, ancient Acacias trees in Dead Vlei.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Windhoek
- As soon as you land, we will pick you up from the Hosea Kutako International Airport or anywhere within Windhoek.
Accommodation: Windhoek West Guesthouse is an idea for overnight.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 2: Windhoek - Sossusvlei
- Pick up after breakfast from Windhoek Guest House in Windhoek and proceed straightaway to the world-famous Sossusvlei via the attractive Spreetshoogte Pass.
- Stop over at the viewpoint to appreciate the endless view of the Namib Desert.
- Enjoy lunch at the Solitaire Oasis.
- Arrive at the Guest Farm/lodge or campsite around between three and four in the afternoon.
Accommodation: Weltevrede Guest farm.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Day 3: Sossusvlei
- Visit the Sesriem Gate to the beautiful Sossusvlei area at sunrise
- Start off with climbing the picturesque Dune 45, experiencing the beauty and vastness of the orange-coloured landscape.
- Drive 5 km off-road to Dead Vlei, a place of the vast desert pan where dried-up, ancient Acacias trees stand silent in the impressive, open-air gallery.
- If you wish, you can take on climbing one of the highest dunes on the Big Dad or 'Big Mama’.
- Along the way, you can see occasional wildlife: ostriches, oryx, bat-eared foxes, springboks, and various birds that inhabit the Namib Desert.
Rest and relax in the quiet atmosphere of the Namib Desert.

Day 4: Sossusvlei - Windhoek
- Soon after breakfast, leave for Windhoek through the beautiful Spreetshoogte Pass.
- On our way, stop over at Solitaire.
- Arrive approximately during the afternoon time and be dropped off at the hotel/lodge of your choice.
